The program “controlled landfills for household waste III” which is part of the National Program for Integrated and Sustainable Waste Management (PRONGIDD) aims at waste management through transfer stations, landfills and waste treatment facilities all over the country (new landfills, mechanical-biological pilot treatment plants). Due to lack of information and lack of integrating people’s interest, ANGED is confronted with massive demonstrations of citizens and blockages of construction sites.
Production of four short animated films (in English and French) to succinctly communicate key aspects of professional borehole siting, procurement, drilling and supervision to managers and field personnel.

Swiss Small Hydro has been founded in 1982 as a lobby organisation for independent small hydropower producers. Given the current policy changes in Switzerland (“Energy Strategy 2050”), the association had to re-consider its general strategy to better address its members’ expectations.

Support of the „Hydro Empowerment Network HPNET“, a practitioners‘ network for micro and mini hydropower in South and Southeast Asia
HPNET is a young dynamically growing network, initiated with funds from Wuppertal Institute. The original structure, objectives and methods of the network had to be adapted to accommodate the needs of the meanwhile 60 members in more than 10 countries.

The main objective of the SolarChill project is to help deliver vaccines and to cool and store food and beverages in rural areas without grid power. SolarChill does not use any fluorocarbons in its cooling system or in the insulation and hence is climate friendly.

Backstopping for the “Ghana Electricity Sector Support Project” within the framework of the 3rd phase of the Ghana Energy Development and Access Program (GEDAP III)
SECO has committed to the 3rd phase of GEDAP a USD 21 million grant covering the period 2015-2019. The Project aims at improving the operations and financial situation of the utilities (ECG, NEDCo) through A) institutional strengthening measures, B) increasing access to electricity via capital investments in electricity distribution infrastructure, and C) supporting the RE sector and promoting EE measures.
