The purpose of the Programme Eau Potable pour la Population des Grands Lacs (PEPP) is to contribute to improved health status and living conditions of the populations in the Great Lakes region by enhancing sustainably their access to safe drinking water and the adoption of good hygiene and sanitation practices.
In the project area locally promoted technologies for energy efficient building material production are not economically viable solutions for mass scale dissemination. Successful technologies and production methods from Africa, Asia and/or Latin America are being transferred to the Great Lakes Region.
Realisation of water supply systems, rehabilitation of existing systems and improvement of hygiene practices in the three countries, support for establishment of sustainable management structures and exchange of knowledge and best practices;
Skat Consulting Ltd. was mandated to lead a team of eight representatives of WASH Cluster member-organisations to review the WASH Cluster Approach Globally and in Congo DRC in the framework of a Learning Project aimed at capturing lessons learned from the experience of implementing a Cluster Approach as a response mechanism to humanitarian response.
