SDC Backstopping Mandate for Water

Social Acceptance of the Controlled Landfills III Program (DC III) in Tunisia

The program “controlled landfills for household waste III” which is part of the National Program for Integrated and Sustainable Waste Management (PRONGIDD) aims at waste management through transfer stations, landfills and waste treatment facilities all over the country (new landfills, mechanical-biological pilot treatment plants). Due to lack of information and lack of integrating people’s interest, ANGED is confronted with massive demonstrations of citizens and blockages of construction sites.

Rehabilitation of earthquake affected schools

A destructive earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck Nepal on 25 April 2015. Caritas Switzerland is rehabilitating 34 schools in 6 VDCs in Sindhupalchok district, Nepal, to provide students and teachers with earthquake-safe and child- and teacher-friendly learning environments.

Backstopping Mandate to the “Inter-Ministerial Water Council of Kosovo”

To advance the country’s water sector reform, the Government of Kosovo established in 2008 the Water Task Force (WTF): an inter-ministerial decision-making body shaping the sector’s policy & strategy frame-work and related action plans, as well as coordinating the domestic and external sector actors. The Swiss Government supported the WTF by funding through SECO long-term consultants, short-term experts and a backstopping mandate to Skat since 2009.
