  • Development of the research program and main topics. Evaluation, revision and approval of research projects submitted to the Federal program. Participation in review panels and control of progress made in projects, final evaluation of the projects and results.

Description of the Project:

Formulation and continuous and regular adjustment of the programme; initiating and assessment / evaluation of submitted research proposals; technical and contractual support of research projects; participation in various professional bodies on behalf of SFOE.

Activities: Development and updating / adjusting of the programme and of its core areas according to the guidelines of the Federal Energy Research Commission CORE; to establish national and international networks; to evaluate scientific project proposals; budget control; support fund acquisition and identify financing options; cooperation in scientific advisory groups; control and review of annual and final reports; report writing on behalf of SFOE; consulting services for SFOE in the field of hydropower; participation in national and international conferences; advisory opinion, information and presentations on behalf of SFOE; general professional backstopping of SFOE in various hydropower related aspects.

Results: The Swiss Government is supported and strengthened in implementing its energy strategy, through the facilitation, management and coordination of the required research.
