A warm welcome to our new CEO, Rupa Mukerji
We are delighted to announce that, effective October 2024, Rupa Mukerji will assume the role of CEO at Skat Consulting, leading the company alongside Frank Wiederkehr, CEO Deputy. Rupa succeeds Florian Klingel, who stepped down as CEO in April 2024 after five years of remarkable leadership. We are pleased that he will continue contributing to Skat as Senior Water Expert.
Rupa brings with her decades of leadership experience and deep familiarity with Swiss development cooperation. From 2004 to 2011, she served as the Country Director for Intercooperation in India, and thereafter as Director of the newly formed Advisory Services Department of Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, based in Zurich and Bern. As a member of the Helvetas Management Board, she worked closely with fellow directors and the Executive Director to successfully guide the newly formed organisation following the merger of Helvetas and Intercooperation
Earlier in her career, Rupa founded and led TARU Leading Edge, an employee-owned firm offering technical and advisory services in housing, energy, as well as water, sanitation, and hygiene. Over the years, she has developed deep competences in climate change adaptation, spearheading numerous assessment and design missions, as well as implementing pioneering adaptation projects. Notably, she contributed as a lead author to the 5th and 6th UN IPCC Assessment Reports and was a part of the Swiss delegation at the UN Climate Conferences.
This leadership transition reflects Skat’s ongoing commitment to its strategic objectives, building on its profound expertise in project implementation, consultancy, and knowledge sharing across our key areas of water supply and sanitation, integrated water resources management, building, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and local governance and decentralisation.
We are confident that Rupa’s extensive management experience, coupled with her comprehensive understanding of several of Skat’s core areas and in-depth knowledge of the international development sector, makes her the ideal leader to guide the company into the future. She envisions her role as CEO not just as a manager but also as a team member, mentor, coach and sparring partner for our professionals in Switzerland and abroad.
