This publication summarises the key achievements of Phase 1 of the Integrated Water Resource Management Program in Kosovo (IWRM-K). It aims to help transform water resources management in one of the most water-stressed countries in Southeast Europe. IWRM-K is funded and led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Government of Kosovo, and implemented by Skat Consulting and the Umweltbundesamt/Environment Agency Austria.

This publication acknowledges the numerous milestones achieved over the past four years through our local team, supported by our experts based in Switzerland, and our partners. They include the development of the first-ever river basin management plans in Kosovo, the introduction of cleaner technologies, the promotion of sustainable crop farming practices, the enhancement of institutional capacity, and the advancement of stakeholder participation in water resources management.
