The Winter School “Engineering for Development” is a novel format at ETH Zurich, offered to advanced students (MSc or PhD) around the world. It consists of a three weeks full-time course in January, including a one week workshop in Emmental. In 2015, the overall topic was water, and one module was “Water and Health”, implemented by Eawag and Skat consulting. During 4 afternoons, a case study of a rural school in Bolivia was presented and the students had to develop external advice to a local NGO who is implementing WASH projects at schools.
