Evaluation of the cost structure of Small Hydropower

              Plants (SHP) in Switzerland

The Programm SwissEnergy of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) has supported the assessment of more than 600 potential SHP sites in Switzerland. The project “Evaluation of the cost structure of Small Hydropower Plants (SHP) in Switzerland” examined the produced reports, extracted relevant data and summarised them in an overview, which allows further analysis and data processing.

Description of the Project:

The objective was to gather detailed information about the expected costs of different types of Small Hydropower Plants in Switzerland based on statements of various experts. Examination of further relations, development of benchmarks.

Results: The costs of over 600 studies have been extracted and summarised and several technical and economical benchmarks calculated. The final report has been published and is available online here available in German language.
