SKAT looks into the possibilities of linking small hydro and electric mobility in the coming years.

SKAT is exploring the use of electricity from small hydropower plants to power charging stations for electric mobility in Switzerland. One of the four case studies analysed is located in Olten. This approach would expand the network of charging stations based on decentralised energy production. In addition, 100% renewable energy can be used directly at the production source to minimise transmission losses.
“Through our collaboration with SKAT, our project particularly benefited from the consolidation of analyses and the broadening of perspectives across legal, technical, economic and cultural dimensions.”
