How to best use electricity from small Swiss hydropower plants?

SKAT looks into the possibilities of linking small hydro and electric mobility in the coming years.

SKAT is exploring the use of electricity from small hydropower plants to power charging stations for electromobility in Switzerland. One of the four case studies analysed is in Olten. This would expand the network of charging stations based on decentralised energy production. Additionally, the 100% renewable energy can be used directly at the production source to minimise transmission losses.

«Through our collaboration with SKAT, our project benefited particularly in consolidating analysis and broadening perspectives across legal, technical, economic, and cultural dimensions.»
