Facilitation & Innovative Learning

SKAT believes that professional facilitation, using innovative tools and methods, can enhance knowledge sharing, retention, and application. Knowledge sharing should be empowering, respectful and fluid. Whilst many professionals face an information overload in their daily work, they may simultaneously lack access to validated expertise. SKAT supports clients in creating dynamic spaces for learning and knowledge exchange. We design and facilitate tailored formats that encourage sharing among knowledge holders, ensuring that key development insights are captured, analysed and applied in a meaningful way. These formats include workshops, learning journeys, multi-stakeholder dialogues, targeted publications and audio-visual material. We connect people, bringing the knowledge of citizens and decision-makers, practitioners and experts together in common platforms, for better development outcomes. These approaches can also be used with our private sector clients to design better products and services.

Facilitation and moderation

Our experience and services in this area range from international conferences, workshops and courses for decision-makers, senior managers and policymakers, to hands-on support to communities and technical operatives. We offer high quality, tailored participatory workshops in multiple formats - in person, online or hybrid.

Management of Networks

SKAT facilitates and manages professional networks that bring together diverse stakeholders to share knowledge, coordinate activities, and drive collective action in international cooperation. Our network management services include organizing events, maintaining communication platforms, and coordinating collaborative initiatives that strengthen sectoral capacity and promote innovation. These networks serve as vital knowledge-sharing hubs that connect practitioners, policymakers, and organizations across geographic and institutional boundaries.

Learning Journeys

SKAT creates comprehensive programmes that combine workshops, webinars, and networking opportunities to strengthen capacities over time. Rather than one-off training events, our Learning Journeys deliver sustained learning experiences that build expertise, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change in professional practice across our thematic areas.

Publications

Well researched publications are part of our founding mission. SKAT was established in 1978 to share technical knowledge and expertise across the international cooperation community. While we have long since evolved into a comprehensive consulting firm offering implementation, advisory and facilitation services, publications remain an integral part of our institutional character and commitment to knowledge sharing. Supporting our clients in compiling, consolidating, and editing content in different formats, including audio-visual, is a key component of our work.
