RésEAU – Strengthening Switzerland’s water sector
Helping the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to remain a leader and trendsetter in international cooperation in the domain of water.
RésEAU is the water network of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). With over 600 members, it is a key platform that helps SDC to strengthen its contributions and position in the water sector. Drawing on our long-standing experience in both water related issues and knowledge management, SKAT facilitates learning and peer exchange among the network members for innovation, learning and enhanced collective impact.
Network members identify topics of interest and recently groundwater management was a shared concern of many members. SKAT developed and launched a learning journey which has grown into a ‘Community of Practice’ that continues to learn from each other through peer-exchanges.
In 2024, SKAT also designed an eight-month learning journey focusing on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, in collaboration with other thematic networks of SDC and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The process provided insights into how the region addresses topics such as decarbonisation, depollution, and the circular economy, and how Switzerland can be of support. SKAT’s broad thematic expertise and extended experience in delivering multi-stakeholder and multi-faceted knowledge management events made it ideally suited to design and facilitate such a learning journey.
SKAT also contributed to the organisation and documentation of two webinars on the removal of heavy metals from drinking water, a growing challenge in many parts of the world.
