Helping the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) remain a leader and trendsetter in international cooperation in the water sector.

RésEAU is the water network of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). With more than 600 members, it is a key platform that helps the SDC to strengthen its contributions and position in the water sector. Drawing on our long‑standing experience in both water‑related issues and knowledge management, SKAT facilitates learning and peer exchange among network members to foster innovation, learning and enhanced collective impact.
Network members identify topics of shared interest, and groundwater management has recently been a common concern for many. SKAT developed and launched a learning journey which has since grown into a Community of Practice that continues to foster mutual learning through peer exchange.
In 2024, SKAT designed an eight‑month learning journey focusing on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, in collaboration with other SDC thematic networks and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The process provided insights into how the region addresses topics such as decarbonisation, depollution and the circular economy, and how Switzerland can provide support. SKAT’s broad thematic expertise and extensive experience in delivering multi‑stakeholder and multi‑faceted knowledge management events made it well suited to design and facilitate this learning journey.
SKAT also contributed to the organisation and documentation of two webinars on the removal of heavy metals from drinking water, a growing challenge in many parts of the world.
