The project focuses on enhancing access to safe drinking water and household sanitation for rural communities in Moldova, including women, men, and vulnerable or disadvantaged groups. In alignment with the Republic of Moldova's Water Supply and Sanitation Strategy, the initiative strives to ensure sustainable and equitable water and sanitation services in the target villages and beyond. Skat offers its expertise in capacity building, technical support, and sustainable development practices to achieve these objectives, fostering long-term improvements in rural livelihoods. The project builds on insights gained from the ApaSan project, co-funded by SDC and ADA, which successfully addressed water and sanitation challenges in rural Moldova during its three phases from 2008 to 2019.

details

The stocktaking part focuses on SDC's designed flagship interventions that are coming to an end or have already been completed. The study is based on most relevant project/programme-related reports, reviews, evaluations and other documents. To make the study more effective, a series of key informant interviews is conducted. The results of the study are crucial as they are used not only to define future pathways and priority areas, but also to select initial participants in programme design and possibly implementation.
