Implementing a technology transfer project, introducing energy efficient and environmentally friendly brick production technology to the Nepali brick sector.

Objective: To reduce CO2 emissions and to improve the working conditions within the building material industry and the construction sector of NepalActivities: Demonstrating clean brick production and application methods (e.g. Vertical Brick Shaft Kiln (VSBK) technology) in Nepal and establishing the services for its dissemination

Results: Private Nepali brick entrepreneurs invest in a cleaner production technology and the construction sector has access to environmentally friendly construction methods.

Skat provided the following services:

• Acquiring interested entrepreneurs and supporting them in business planning
• Establishing an expert service team for engineering and construction support
• Developing and promoting socially improved measures in the brick industry
• Legal support for entrepreneurs interested in shifting to cleaner technology
• Developing and promoting environmentally friendly construction methods
