HEKS/EPER provides urgent humanitarian assistance to people living close to the front-line of conflict in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv Oblasts. SKAT supported HEKS/EPER with funding proposal development addressing light and medium repairs of conflict-damaged housing.

In February 2024 a team of HEKS/EPER staff was attacked while on a mission to assess the humanitarian situation in South Eastern Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of two staff and injury of four. Subsequently, SKAT provided technical advisory support in design of humanitarian shelter activities for light and medium repairs of damaged housing in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv Oblasts.
