The project focuses on implementing a sanitation initiative that provides functional and hygienic in-house sanitary facilities to Moldovan households hosting refugees, as well as other vulnerable households. By addressing critical sanitation needs, the intervention reduces discomfort and potential conflicts, enhances privacy and dignity, and contributes to environmental protection.

Main objective:
To support Moldovan households that are hosting refugees (and other vulnerable households) to have a functioning, in-house sanitary facility (flush toilet and shower) for the shared use of the whole solidarity family (host family & refugees) that fulfill minimum criteria of hygiene, dignity, privacy, accessibility, comfort and environmental protection. Risks of discomfort, embarrassment and conflicts are reduced.

Secondary objectives:
Secondary objectives of the project include emergency contingency, recognition of solidarity, long-term contribution to better sanitation in the village, and contribution to the local economy.

Services provided:
Identification of households, home verifications and assessments, technical designs and contracting, construction works supervision and final reception.  

Results:
Construction works in 362 households completed and verified. (620 verification visits were conducted, 629 technical visits and 390 technical designs developed)
