Manuel Henseler has worked in the sectors of humanitarian aid and international development cooperation for over 16 years and has acquired extensive knowhow in project implementation and consulting of partner institutions, particularly in the thematic sectors of water, sanitation and shelter. With Sandec/EAWAG and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) he has first built up specific competences in the fields of Water Quality Monitoring, Waste Water Reuse and urban agriculture. Manuel has then joined the Water and Habitat Unit of the International Committee of the Red Cross, for which he coordinated WASH-, shelter- and construction programs for over 13 years, mostly in countries of conflict and disaster, across Africa, MENA and Asia. He has acquired expert knowhow of the Humanitarian Aid sector, ranging from emergency response to reconstruction, as well as sustainable development and DRR. He has built particularly strong competences in the programme design, monitoring and evaluation, but also in knowledge management, capacity building and learning&development.
