By upgrading building emission standards, supporting demonstration buildings and enhancing capacities of professionals with Switzerland’s leading know-how on sustainable construction, the project supports the decarbonization of China’s building sector, which is the biggest in the world.

Main objectives: The overall project goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enable the carbon neutral development of the building sector in China by sharing Swiss know-how on sustainable and zero emission building.

Services provided: Skat and intep jointly manage all project activities of the Sino-Swiss consortium. The teams carry out joint research with Chinese experts on building standards, strengthen capacity building for Chinese building related professional groups and provide technical assistance to the design, construction and certification of pilot zero-emission buildings.

Results and products: in the ongoing project, a series of zero-emission demo buildings has been built, knowlodge transfer was facilitated through online platforms (due to travel restrictions) and a zero-emission building standard for China
