Markus Lechner has more than 25 years of work experience in the water and sanitation sector in development cooperation, starting in the late 1990’s as a research assistant at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna. Since then, he has worked in more than 30 countries worldwide in the water supply and sanitation sector in a variety of different roles, from project and program development and design to project implementation and evaluation. He has worked as a consultant for private clients, such as international and local NGOs and private companies, local Authorities but also bilateral and multilateral organisations like ADA, SIDA, BTC (ENABEL) and UNOPS, UNIDO, AfDB, Worldbank.
