General objective of the PBF is protection of biodiversity, sustainable management of tropical forests and improvement of the living conditions in protected areas and adjacent zones. The Centre is expected to bring together the different relevant stakeholders (networking), coordinate activities, offer training, develop innovative and affordable products/ideas, marketing of Renewables and energy efficient products, attract micro-finance options for entrepreneurs etc.

Stakeholder analysis (individual interviews and visiting of current activities) and assessment of ongoing activities; workshop with all relevant stakeholders (universities, NGOs, commercial enterprises, government structures etc.) to present the preliminary analysis and to discuss the potential structure and activities of the Centre; elaboration of a concept for the Centre for Renewable Energies: main objective and tasks, beneficiaries, activities, location, budget, business plan etc.; development of an implementation plan / road map; propose financing option for the Centre and related activities; risk analysis
Results: All required elements for the establishment of a Centre for Renewable Energies are well prepared (general concept, business plan, road map etc.) and can be used for the establishment of the Centre as an institution which facilitates innovation, networking, training and distribution of information.
