ISW has been implementing rural water supply, hygiene and sanitation projects in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, on behalf of SDC, since 2006. The participatory approach used by ISW has proven successful and was commended in two external evaluations undertaken in 2012.

This project supported the writing of the first Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector Performance Report (SPR) for the Republic of Liberia. It was written by staff from eight ministries and agencies as well as several NGOs implementing projects in the country.

Created in 2012, the SWP is the unique multistakeholders’ platform in Switzerland and aims at finding innovative solutions to adress water challenges in developing and transition countries. Skat’s main activities are: Organization of steering board & general assemblies; moderation of working groups; creating communication tools; customer acquisition & retention. Additionally, Skat supports the board to develop a vision and working out a realistic business model.
SDC Backstopping Mandate for Water
