Description of the Project:
Services provided by Skat: formulation and continuous and regular adjustment of the programme; initiating and assessment / evaluation of submitted research proposals; technical and contractual support of research projects; participation in various professional bodies on behalf of SFOE
Objective: optimised utilisation of the available hydropower potential in Switzerland under a holistic approach (taking into consideration technical, economic, social, environmental and other relevant aspects)
Activities: Development and updating / adjusting of the programme and of its core areas according to the guidelines of the Federal Energy Research Commission CORE; to establish national and international networks; to evaluate scientific project proposals; budget control; support fund acquisition and identify financing options; cooperation in scientific advisory groups; control and review of annual and final reports; report writing on behalf of SFOE; consulting services for SFOE in the field of hydropower; participation in national and international conferences; advisory opinion, information and presentations on behalf of SFOE; general professional backstopping of SFOE in various hydropower related aspects.
Results: The Swiss Government is supported and strengthened in implementing its energy strategy, through the facilitation, management and coordination of the required research.
